Well, I hope you had a great Christmas, and this is going to be my last review of 2014, since well, I have a lot of shows to catch up too. Not to mention, I might not be on Deviantart for the next two months, since school will be in the way of things. But until then, I'll try and stay in touch on the weekends. So, until my progress report, or at least a month comes, Jessica Diccico month will not be in January.

So, last time, I reviewed an gem on Nickelodeon, now I'm reviewing Littlest Pet Shop.

Yes, another reboot to a toy franchise that no boy ever loved.

So, this reboot is about a girl named Blythe, who moves in on top of a pet daycare, known as the Littlest Pet Shop. There, she learns that she has the ability to talk to the animals, as she befriends the pets. While Blythe deals with life, the pets end up mostly uses their imaginations on what goes on.

So, believe it or not, this cartoon is actually surprising enjoyable. Okay, it's not great on any means, but it's still good.

Okay, so this cartoon is not made for the people who like FIM, since they put more effort into the writing in that show than in here, and it shows, since the jokes are something that would make a 6-year-old laugh, and no, not as in Toddler Titans No humor, but as in Veggietales, or Arthur, and it shows, since one of the jokes of the first episode involve the pets repeating Blythe's name, and studdering like she did.

So, let's get to the characters.

Blythe is the main protagonist, and is actually likable. She's just a regular teenager, but she still cares about what goes on between her and the people she likes. She's also a rare cartoon character that changes her hairstyle and clothes every episode. However, I kind of don't like her design with ponytails. But the show is not about her, it's mostly about the pets.

Okay, I know the pets have sparked a little contreversey, since they are known for being clones of the Mane Six, and I can see where they're coming from. But I somewhat still like these characters.

There's Zoe Trent, a dog, who has Twilight's hair color, but has the personality of Rarity. She loves to sing, and believe me, she somewhat has a voice. There's Russell, a hedgehog, who's basically Twilight, and voiced by Double-D himself, Sam Vincent. He's the smart one, and the one who has common sense, or at least when he's not following the pets steps. Then, there's Vinny, the lizard, who loves to dance. There's Pepper Clark, a skunk, who's a joker. No, she's not the Pinkie Pie, Minka is. She's a monkey, who loves to paint, but is also pretty crazy. There's also Sunil, a mongoose, who is paranoid. Seriously, Pepper made him frown in the intro!

Then, there's Penny Ling. Yes, she's my favorite character. I know being adorable can't win over personality, (COUGHMAGGIEPESKYCOUGH) and she's basically Fluttershy, but she's still a great character. Plus, she has SOME backbone and humor to her.

There's also the other human characters. There's Blythe's dad, who's of course, the basic embarassing and crazy, but fun-loving dad, Mrs. Twombly, the pet-shop owner, who also has humor in her, and the Bizkit Twins, Blythe's enemies, who are of course, the typical bitch characters. But I think they were MADE to be cliches, since they are constantly using the word "LIKE".

There's also Blythe's friends, who are good to her, but I'm not to fond of Jasper, since there was one episode he was in which I kind of hated, which was where he directed a commercial.

The show also can be pretty funny, even if the jokes are aimed at little kids.

Oh, and there are also songs. On one hand, they are catchy, but on the other hand, they are kind of pointless. Most of the songs come from the pets and their imagination, and some of them have style. Like the Humanarian song is set as an 80's hit. But my favorite is the "Stay Here Forever" song. Even if it was over-exaggeration, it still had SOME emotion.

However, I'll admit, sometimes, the pets side-plots could have nothing going on, which could be pretty boring at times. Not to mention, sometimes, the writing isn't all that great. YES, it's for little kids, but Arthur had intelligent writers. One thing comes to mind, was when Blythe's dad embarassed her to death at school, and then said that she needed time alone. However, what makes her regret this? She looks at Minka befriending a turtle, and starts BAWLING, even though it's been a few minutes. Yeah, kind of over-exaggerated for a message.

The animation is also good, but good god, am I the only one that things everyone has huge ASS heads?

So yeah, it's kind of boring at parts, but it's somewhat fun, with great characters. Nowhere near as good as FIM, but still enjoyable

7/10
